Tint A Shield comes in 2 different tint levels light (20%) and dark (5%). The 20% and 5% means visible light tranmission, how much light it actually lets through the tint. 5% does not sound like very much light, but on a sunny day the dark is by far the preferred level of tint, and the 20% is more for a partly sunny day. But levels of tint come in the universal goggle shape and the universal helmet shape.
Sense Tint A Shield is not made to completely cover your shield, it creates small areas around the shield that are not covered with Tint A Shield. The small areas are convenient when going through shaded areas, you can tilt your head slightly to look out those holes, hence the name peep holes.
You do not want Tint A Shield to completely cover your shield, because it will be almost impossible to apply to the shield without the edges coming off the shield and creating air bubbles around the edges. If you do get air bubbles around the edges you run the risk of the wind getting under Tint A Shield and possibly coming off. So for best results it is best that Tint A Shield is smaller than your shield for easy application.
This video is a full demonstration of Tint A Shield. We show you how to apply Tint A Shield and then prove it stays on at high speeds. Tint A Shield is a very simple solution to a potentially dangerous situation, especially if you leave during the day with a tinted helmet shield on, and then return home at night with that same tinted helmet shield on, you can’t see very good at all. Most riders do not carry a spare shield to switch from tinted and non tinted shields. With Tint A Shield you can apply it and remove it within seconds, and it can be used over and over again. We have prototypes from 2005 that still work fine.
